Diy Flour,Sugar and Such Canisters

Do you ever open your cupboard full of baking mixes and think there has got to be a better way to store this? Well, of course there is! You can buy cute canisters or you can do like I did and make your own. I bought these glass canisters at Walmart but they do sell many different shapes and sizes at Hobby Lobby. I was planning on using large Kerr jars but the lids were not as big as I would have liked so I opted for these more square shaped canisters. I picked up some colored burlap because we all know I LOVE color, some vinyl chalkboard stickers and then decided to add knobs to the top of the lids. It was an easy project and the openings of the canisters are just large enough to stick measuring spoons and cups inside!

Sneak Peak…

                                                                 Instructions and Materials:
1. Hot glued the ribbon around the jar
2. Put the vinyl chalkboard labels in the middle front
2. poke a hole into lid. I placed a screwdriver in the middle of the lid and then hammered it until it punctured     a hole into the lid.
3. I cleaned up the sharp edged as best as I could and then for the heck of it put a few layers of hot glue around the rough edge of hole.
4.  I placed the knob inside. You will need to cut the end of the screw on the knob because they tend to be        pretty long
5. Then you just fill them with your flour and sugar and such!

Hope you all enjoyed this quick and affordable Diy that you can custom to your liking.

Dining Room Chairs Gone Colorfully Eclectic

I finally painted my dining room chairs. It just took a weekend of boredom to get me pumped. Ha! I’m in love with them but that’s because I love color! I couldn’t imagine having a home with no color. Neutral decor is pretty but doesn’t work for my personality. I’m sure if someone were to walk into my house and see only neutrals they’d probably think I’d gone crazy! I’ve always wanted bright colorful dining room chairs. It stems from my love of Mexican food and how every Mexican restraint I’ve ever been to has always had these vibrant colored dining chairs and I always told myself someday…Then I saw this cute picture on Pinterest of a dining room table and chairs done in different colors that just so happened to be the theme of my living room and dining room. I got inspired and painted my little heart away. However, I must say that chairs are tedious work when painting. Check out my Upcycled dining room set.

Sneak Peak…

Here’s the before…They aren’t bad looking but I needed color.

Paint used…

Now I just need paint and a new dining room rug…

Upcycled Mirrors

I changed up my dining room wall yet again. For some reason it’s been a big “problem area” for me. I don’t know what to do with it. I had made some initial plates of our family and hung them up but the colors were not flowing with the rest of the house. I had to change it. My sister picked me up some .50 cent mirrors from an auction that were horrid gold and I also had a large mirror that too was horrid gold. So I sprayed them with Krylons Caramel Latte and then added red, blue, green, and yellow to each mirror waited for that to dry, roughed the mirrors up with sandpaper and lightly went over it with a coffee tinted stain to give it that aged look. I sprayed the large mirror with chalkboard spray paint. I thought it would be great to write greetings on it for different seasons. I loved how it turned out and I know it’s going to even look cuter with painted walls. Whenever, I get to that.
