From Eww…To Rad!

I got this idea to paint my old chipped or goddie pieces of jewelry that I thought about giving with nail polish from Youtube. I thought what a cool thing to do to those pieces that are just down right ugly. I had a few in my jewelry collection that were just god awful in your face “bling” and were just blech. So I decided to give this little craft project a try and am quite pleased with how it turned out.

All you need is any kind of fingernail polish, preferably quick dry and you will need to do a few coats depending on what consistency of polish you are using. You can use a makeup sponge which I did at first and then went over it with the actual brush that comes in the lid of the nailpolish.

Here’s the ugly in your face “bling” of the jewelry before…

And a few coats later, notice I did the ombre effect. These kinds of pieces make great statement pieces.

I love owls and the blingness of the silver and rhinestones was just to much, not to mention it is a very large pendant. I decided it would be great to give it a fresh coat of fall like colors. It would look great with a simple shirt, leggings, and brown boots with sweater socks peaking out. 🙂

The owl…

The Outfits that would work great with such a large necklace…

This is something I would wear with the owl piece…

The butterfly I thought would be pretty in blues with an ombre effect. It turned out cute.

Outfits I’d sport with this piece…

Here’s where I found this great idea…this girl is gorgeous and I love watching her Youtube videos.
P.S. If you didn’t know I have a little ritual of waking up in the morning, making a cup of coffee and sitting down to watch my favorite beauty gurus of Youtube. LOL.

I understand that statement pieces aren’t for everyone but I love quirky jewelry.
Until next time…
Peace N Luv Always,
